This week there is not going to be too much progress as I am trying to recombobulate myself into a regular writing schedule. It has taken me so long to keep the fires under control while maintaining every project I am involved in (but not my sanity, that shit left to the wind decades ago.)
First order of business is to look over the first four chapters to see if I still like them, and hack any offending limbs accordingly. Then onward to the fifth chapter. My aim is to finish by the end of the week, failing that the end of the month.
This is the word count we are starting off with for Chapter 5:
Some may or may not know that I do not count progress by words. I give arbitrary checkpoints for myself, and it’s going to be as long or as short as I damned well please. It’s done when it’s done.
This chapter has two skeletal scenes that need their meat. I already have an idea of where they are going, so filling it out should be no problem.
After that, unfortunately comes the first hurdle. I have a bit of a timeline gap between the events of that and the events where I know what is going on. I think I am going to skip to the future in order to at least make headway on the prose. Hopefully I will figure out what the fuck is going on between the two chunks in the meantime.
But that is all I got for now. I have a ginormous playlist of archived music I have yet to listen to, and hopefully I can wrangle my brain into a productive headspace. Wish me luck!
